The Spirit: Your True Essence
“Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”

What did St. Paul refer to when he mentioned that every one of us does not only have a body and a soul, but also a spirit? Master Choa Kok Sui explains that the meaning of spirit here is the divine spark present in every individual.To achieve union with the divine spark or the Divine Father residing within each one of us, we need to pass through the I AM or the higher soul first.
This is also echoed in another verse in the Holy bible: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Master clarifies, in his book, Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul, that Jesus here was providing specifications about “the way” of the incarnated soul to attaining union with the Divine Father which was through the higher soul.
The Holy Spirit
An important and valid point to be noted here is that the spirit as explained by Master Choa Kok Sui is not the same entity as the Holy Spirit. The latter is among the Holy Trinity of Christianity and refers to spiritually active presence of God in the earthly world. By “spirit”, Master Choa Kok Sui refers to our individual divine spark that is, in reality, a part of God. It is this spirit that corresponds to the essence of God.The spirit or the divine spark is in unison with God and with all. It thus embodies a universal oneness. We are all one as our Divine spark comes from the same point of Origin, whether we call it the Parabrahma or the Supreme Being.
The Divine spark or the spirit is known by different names in different traditions. The spirit is thus an important concept that holds a place of importance in all theological branches whether it is called Ain (Kabbalistic literature), Kung (Buddhist teachings), Sunya/Paramatma (Hindu scriptures), Adhi (as per Egyptian beliefs), Monad (Theosophical nomenclature) or The Father (in accordance with Christian doctrines). The significance of the spirit thus has been recognized in almost all theological sects of the world.
The Ultimate Union
With spiritual progress, one gets closer to God-realization. This is the experience of oneness the spirit or Paramatma. The incarnated soul and the higher soul then become one with the the Divine spark or the spirit. With this union there is a feeling of oneness with God and with all. This is the higher spiritual level where an yogi can truly claim to be one with the Father.
