Your Sex chakra or Swadhishtana Chakra plays a crucial role in your quest for spiritual development. Sex energy can be transmuted into spiritual unity and love. Once the sex energy transforms, it feeds the upper chakras. Thus, sex energy is like food for the upper chakras and helps in the smooth functioning of the brain and the nervous system. The transmutation of the Sex chakra is extremely useful, whether one is celibate or not.

Part of the sexual energy is transformed to a higher form of pranic energy to be used for spiritual, intelligent and creative functions. It is necessary to transmute sex energy, not suppress it. Among the diverse schools of thought, one school of thought believes that sex is dirty and the instinct must be suppressed. With this kind of mindset, spiritual enlightenment is impossible. The reason? If the Sex chakra/ Swadhishtana Chakra is inhibited or suppressed, it cannot go up to the upper chakras. And without the transmutation of sex energy, the activation of the Crown chakra, the centre of illumination and divine oneness cannot be achieved satisfactorily.

Another extreme school of thinking is the liberal sexual school where sex energy is simply wasted. When sex energy is wasted to a large extent, little sex energy is left for transformation for the use by the upper chakras, and especially the crown chakra.

A middle path is necessary to achieve the right results. Transmutation of sex energy does not require a partner, it can be done solo. The right mindset is the one that considers sex as natural and healthy. This mindset has been embraced by the Northern Taoist School. Sex is not dirty. Sex is in fact sacred. And when done properly, manifests as the divine union of 2 souls, oneness with their higher souls and oneness with the universe.

The Sex chakra ensures the smooth and healthy functioning of the sex organs, the bladder and the urethra. It also affects the legs, the throat and the head.

The Sex chakra and Meng Mein chakra produce orange prana when a person urinates. This prana is used in expelling and eliminating waste matter from the body.

The malfunctioning of the Ajna chakra, throat chakra and the Basic chakra or Mooladhara chakra can adversely affect the Sex chakra.

The healthy functioning of the Throat chakra and other chakras in the head area requires transmuted sex energy. Mentally retarded people have depleted Sex chakras and consequently their throat, ajna, forehead and Crown chakras are also depleted. In aged people, the sex and the Basic chakra or Mooladhara chakra are depleted and that is the reason they become senile.

Congestion or depletion of the Sex chakra can lead to enlarged prostate. While the congestion of the Sex chakra can be observed in the celibate, the depletion of the Sex chakra can be seen in the aged men.

Myoma and its Causes

Myoma is caused in patients from an improper attitude towards sex and sexual inhibition. The Sex chakra is congested and filled with dirty red energy. Sex energy is suppressed and is not fully released even during sexual intercourse. The sex energy does not flow freely to other chakras, as it does in normal people. This manifests as Myoma. Women who have had sexually negative experiences develop sexual ailments. Even nuns may be sexually afflicted because of sexual abstinence without consciously or unconsciously sublimating the sex energy.
